Russell Herder Releases Annual B Corp Report, Celebrates 35 Years of Business

Russell Herder, Minnesota’s only internationally-Certified B Corporation advertising and marketing agency, is excited to release its 2018 Annual Report.

This year Russell Herder is celebrating 35 years in business as a full-service agency that drives success for its clients while producing benefits for the world at large. As a Certified B Corp, Russell Herder considers the impact of its decisions on its team members, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. This commitment provides the transparency and accountability necessary for the agency to measure its purpose and make a greater positive impact year-after-year.

In 2018, Russell Herder reached many notable goals and achievements:

• Maintained high scores on its B Corp Impact Assessment.

• Named “Best for the World” honoree by B Lab, scoring in the top 10 percent for governance among all B Corporations across the globe.

• Recognized as a “Leader in Giving” by Twin Cities Business for its philanthropic efforts and mission-driven approach.

The agency is one of 16 B Corps in Minnesota among 2,655 worldwide, across 60 countries and 150 industries. As part of the B Corp commitment, Russell Herder provided 100 percent of its staff paid leave to volunteer with nonprofits of their choice.

In addition to individual volunteer time, RH provided $162,000 in pro bono professional strategic and creative services to nonprofit organizations dedicated to economic sustainability, the arts, and health and wellness causes. Nonprofit recipients of this work included such entities as Crescent Cove, Lakes Area Music Festival, ASID, Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, among others.

As a Certified B-Corp Russell Herder firmly believes that why and how you succeed is just as important as profit. Every day, the agency strives to make a difference for its clients as well as an impact on the world we live in. This credo is exemplified in the agency’s work.

One example is the innovative co-creation projects the agency has produced in multiple cultural communities. The process is defined by a commitment to collaborating and forming deep working partnerships with diverse and unique communities. The proven approach is centered within an evidence-based process that relies upon deep field research and innovative, strategic creative. Russell Herder has produced co-creation projects that target opioid abuse in the Native American community, problem gambling among the Lao community and abuse and neglect of vulnerable adults. Russell Herder is one of the few agencies in the country to offer this service to clients.

“As a team, we share the collective belief that businesses can, and should, be successful yet have a positive impact on the world,” said Carol Russell, CEO of Russell Herder. “This idea continues to be achieved through our steadfast commitment to producing work that matters and by making a difference for our clients and the community at large.”
