Our internship program provides rising college seniors and recent college graduates with the opportunity to work hands on alongside experienced industry professionals. Throughout their full-time assignment, interns are mentored by agency talent, while assisting in real-life industry work. Project goals will be discussed, and interns will receive feedback throughout their journey with the goal of learning and experiencing agency life along the way. Applications for 2025 summer internships will be accepted until February 20.
Founded 40 years ago, Russell Herder is an award-winning strategic ad agency providing market research, digital marketing, creative development, social media, and public relations excellence to our clients. One of only a very few internationally certified B Corporations® in Minnesota, we attract highly skilled talent by offering an excellent work environment and the opportunity to make meaningful contributions that change lives. Our clients include innovative organizations in the destination, associations, health and medical, government, and manufacturing spaces, among others.
Broadly speaking, this internship will include goal setting, working to achieve those goals through tasks assigned by your mentor, and an evaluation at the end of your time at RH. Along the way, you’ll have access to experienced professionals who love talking about their work, and who harbor plenty of agency knowledge.
We ask that you include with your application a resume, cover letter and portfolio (if applicable).
For starters, our internship program is designed for college seniors, as well as recent college graduates. As importantly, we are looking for candidates with innate curiosity, willingness to dig deep and learn, and a professional mindset.
Yes. We value your time and will pay you accordingly as an intern. Russell Herder expects professional work, best efforts, and a willingness to learn in return.
We’ll be kicking off the Internship on June 2 and it will end on August 28. Work hours will be Monday through Thursday.
An internship provides the opportunity for us to get to know each other, meaning we focus on enhancing your skill set while determining our potential needs as a company. While some interns have become employees after completing internship, this should not be an expectation.
We’re looking for a candidate with a certain je ne sais quoi. We want you to demonstrate curiosity, an eagerness to learn, a passion to help others, and be a team player; however, there’s plenty more we’re looking for, and there’s not a “one-size-fits-all” answer. If you’re curious and eager to help, that’ll be a great start.
You’ll gain countless technical skills and insights. Overall, you’ll be able to learn about the power of professionalism, understand what it means to be a B-Corp, and fulfill our mission of creating work that matters. Plus, not to brag, but you’ll get to meet great people.
For 40 years, Russell Herder has been a driving force in the Minneapolis agency scene. We’re a woman-led agency, a Certified B-Corp, working with clients to fulfill our mission of creating work that matters. We are passionate about our work and dedicated to our principles and hire hardworking individuals who reflect a similar mindset. Better question is: Why not Russell Herder?
First step: Complete your application and submit by the February 20 deadline. We’ll be reviewing applications through a selective process, looking for applicants based upon our needs. Next we will interview finalists between March 3-March 7. Once completed, we'll make final decisions. This is a competitive, selective process, and if you are not selected this round, we recommend applying again once you gain additional experience.
