Community care is our daily business — but you don’t have to run an agency to do work that matters.
As a B Corp with a focus on social impact spanning over four decades, RH has been fortunate to collaborate with organizations like Crescent Cove Respite & Hospice Home for Kids, Wildflyer Coffee, Foundation for Cancer Care Tanzania, Lao Assistance Center of Minnesota and the Lakes Area Music Festival — each dedicated to creating meaningful change in their own way. But making a difference doesn’t always involve running a state-wide awareness campaign. Small gestures from the heart can also make a significant impact.

A recent weekly happy hour event exemplifies one of these small efforts. Instead of merely gathering at the bar, we rolled up our sleeves and crafted tie blankets to donate to a local hospital. No sewing skills required. With just a few yards of fleece, scissors and the requisite beverages, RH designers, account managers, writers and more worked together to make meaningful mementos.
Our project manager, Carly Spicer, inspired the charity crafting session. Her husband works as a nurse at Hennepin County Medical Center, and the hospital has a very special program: When patients are unlikely to leave the hospital, their families choose a blanket that patients will use during their remaining days. After they pass, the family can keep the blanket in remembrance of their loved one.
Our team came together and got to work. By the end of the evening, we had a stack of colorful, cozy blankets ready to bring warmth and comfort to patients and their families.
Over the past 40 years, our commitment to partnering with mission-driven clients has expanded our perspectives, challenged our assumptions, introduced us to countless community changemakers and helped us grow in our skills and offerings. Whether it’s directly producing creative work as part of a campaign or supporting nonprofits through volunteerism, we continue to believe in prioritizing people over profits. Whether you, too, work with incredible B Corp partners or tie fleece knots over happy hour, meaningful change often comes from the most approachable actions — and anyone can take them, including you.
