At Russell Herder, we move fast. Our team collaborates with numerous clients across various industries and initiatives, each presenting unique challenges, deadlines and opportunities to make a meaningful impact. As a certified B Corp, we partner with mission-driven organizations whose work strengthens communities and changes lives. And it’s not just a passion; it’s vital to what we do each and every day.
After a sprint to meet a major end-of-fiscal-year deadline, we took time to pause and reflect. We put together a team-wide presentation highlighting the incredible work accomplished across the agency — a reminder that our impact extends far beyond the deadlines. It’s about the people we serve, the messages we shape and the progress we help create together.
Connecting Minnesotans to Life-Saving Support: 988 Minnesota Lifeline
For the Minnesota Department of Health, we helped raise awareness for 988: the lifesaving, three-digit number connecting people to the 988 Minnesota Lifeline, a statewide network that offers free, confidential mental health support 24/7. When someone in Minnesota calls, texts or chats 988, they’re connected directly to a 988 Minnesota Lifeline Center, where trained specialists provide compassionate listening, de-escalation and local resources. Our team worked to make sure Minnesotans knew help was just three digits away, promoting hope, access and awareness statewide.
Clearing a Path for a Fresh Start: Cannabis Expungement
We also partnered with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety to communicate one of the most significant changes in state law in recent years: the Adult-Use Cannabis Act. In addition to legalizing adult use, the legislation opened doors for Minnesotans with certain past cannabis offenses to move forward through automatic expungement. Removing the charge from their records helps individuals remove barriers to employment and housing opportunities. An omnichannel campaign and website supported public understanding of this complex new law, which included the creation of the Cannabis Expungement Board. This newly created group reviews more serious cases requiring individual evaluation. Through clear, accessible messaging, we helped ensure Minnesotans understand their rights, their options and the process.
