Odyssey Resorts recently revamped its Ledge Rock Grille restaurant, located on-property at Larsmont Cottages. Bringing aboard a new executive chef Simon Gilna and expanding its dining menu has been popular with both guests and locals. The North Shore restaurant was listed as a ‘great restaurant for a fall-colors road trip’ in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Chef Simon has worked at some well-known restaurants and trained under some famous chefs. His resume includes stops in the kitchens of Next in Chicago where he was trained by Best Chef in the United States winner Grant Achatz. Next was named a Best New Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation and recognized by Elite Traveler as one of the “Top 100 Restaurants” in the World. He also worked at the High Lonesome Ranch in Colorado.
So, what’s made the North Shore restaurant such a success? Ledge Rock Grille is located beside Lake Superior with stunning views of the landscape and seasonal colors. The new chef’s presence has made quite an impact, too. He has expanded the food and beverage offerings, debuted exciting menu additions and launched the ‘Chef’s Table.’ ‘The Chef’s Table’ is a distinct dining experience, as it invites guests to a front row seat to watch Chef Simon Gilna prepare and serve their six-course meal.
